Windows 10: Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x800703e4

Hello support staff,

I bought my wife this laptop last December in 2017 and it is already running very slowly. She has only downloaded dropbox and installed Microsoft office on it. It keeps telling her that she needs to update however she doesn't have enough free space. I've recently tried to use an external USB to help install this update, however shortly after the update is installing, I get an error message "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x800703e4". I'm very frustrated as to why her laptop is so slow and I was hoping the new update would help make things run more smoothly. When I check out the "storage" button it's saying she is using 26.5 g out of 29.1. How can she be using so much space with it being such a new laptop? The laptop itself was only about $100 and it is a HP Stream Laptop 11-y0XX. It has an intel Celeron CPU N3060 @ 1.6GHz, installed RAM 4.00 GB, system type 64-bit OS. I'm unsure about what most of this means but any advice would be helpful. Thank you in advance,

Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0xc1900204

Hi Maximilian,

Using the latest Windows 10 ISO file is the most succesfull method to install the Windows 10 1803 update. However, since you are having an error when using the solutions provided from the link that you provided, I would suggest that you try the steps in
the link that was provided by Sumit (Independent Advisor) in this

thread, and check if it helps.

Should you have further queries, feel free to post it.

Update to 1803 fails • Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x80070005

Good morning:

On my Thinkpad X1 5th generation, I have tried many times to update 1709 to 1803 (Fall Creators to April update). Each time it stops and gives the message "• Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803 - Error 0x80070005".

I have tried the suggested trouble-shooting diagnostics multiple times, each time getting the fixed checkmark. Then the same error.

One of the suggested solution procedures was a bit more complicated than I was willing to undertake. So, I have now created a bootable 1803 USB and backed up the X1.

Does anyone know how to fix this error? I would prefer to use the windows automatic update. Of course, I can try to "clean install" windows 1803, or simply wait until the problem is fixed.

Any Ideas?
