Windows 10: Feature Update to Windows 10 Version 1903 and 1909 Fail to Install on Laptop

I recently received a notification on my computer to update my Windows, so I hit "restart now" to begin the update.


Everything was going smoothly until it hit about 90%, my computer restarted which happens multiple times throughout the update, and after a bit my screen read "attempting to recover installation process" and then "undoing changes made to your computer"


After quite a while I was able to log back onto my computer. I went to my windows update settings, went to "view update history" and it's showing me that "feature update to Windows 10, version 1903" failed back in September 2019 with an error code "0x80240034" and also "feature update to Windows 10, version 1909" failed too with an error code "0x8007042b" see pic below. I didn't realize that an update failed back in September '19 as I didn't receive any notifications about it.





My computer automatically redownloaded the updates when I pressed "check for updates" in my windows update settings. After redownloading reaching 100%, it began to install which also reached 100%, and then promted me to restart my computer which began the massive update process all over again. Needless to say, the updates failed twice in a row. My laptop restarts when the updates are almost complete, and then prompts the "attempting to recover installation process" and the "undoing changes made to your computer" messages. After about 2 hours of this process, I'm able to log back onto my computer only to see that the updates failed again.


My computer is an everyday HP laptop 2018 with just the basics. I have Avast Antivirus which I've shut off prior to the second time it tried to install, which didn't help. Something must be preventing my computer from updating.


What can be done to solve this issue, and is it a big concern that my computer won't update properly? Am.I sage using my current version Windows? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Windows Updates Cumulative Update version 1903 and the Featured Update version 1909 both fail

I have tried to install both the Cumulative Update version 1903 and the Featured Update version 1909 and when they hit the 100% mark I get a message in install failed and the changes are being undone. After doing this the first time my printer does not
work and I've deleted it and reloaded and it still doesn't work.

I have tried six times to do the updates without success. When I view the update history it says the Featured Update version 1909 failed on 11/18/2019 and the Cumulative Update version 1903 was successfull on 11/18/2009. It than says the Featured
Update version 1909 was successfully updated on 11/18/2019 followed by the Cumulative Update version 1903 failed on 11/23/2009.

During the check for updates it continually loads the the Cumulative
Update version 1903.

When I look at the OS Build it shows Version 1903 installed on 10/12/2019 OS Build 18362.449

So, how do I get these updates to install or allow updates for everything else except Windows updates?

Plus get my printer to be recognized, I can still print documents using email.

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time
