Windows 10: Feature updates 1809 & 1903 on Windows 10

I have 2 computers, an older Toshiba & a newer Dell. Both have windows 10. The Toshiba updated from version 1803 to version 1809 some time ago. The Dell still has version 1803 on it. I never received a notification on the Dell to update to version 1809 but now I am getting a notification to update to 1903 on the Dell only. So the question is, do I need to update to 1809 on the Dell before I update to 1903? Why did it skip version 1809?


It seems to me that Windows/Microsoft has gotten very bad on accurately notifying you of successfully installed updates and those that don't install.

If we suppose we have windows 10 1903 in DVD or USB.

Can we update windows 10 1809 to 1903 with 1903's DVD? (offline update)

Windows 10 Feature Update 1903 is being released very slowly by Microsoft, at the moment, this update is being provided to users that choose to update their system manually, that is why it is appearing in the Update Assistant and not in the Windows Update list
in your Settings App

If you do want to update, use the Update Assistant, 1903 is a really stable update and the installation usually runs very smoothly . . .

 

W10 1809 to 1903 update

Lenovo ThinkCentre E73, I have updated from W10 1809 to 1903 and the PC has now gone really slow and having issues with admin rights, I have chkdsk'd and scannow'd' but no issues found. Tried an inplace update in case windows was corrupted and get the
message some hardware on this PC is incompatible with 1903 update. Can anyone shed any light in these issues please. I have had to revert to 1809 to make the PC usable again. Any suggestions please ? Microsoft have said Lenovo are responsible and Lenovo have
said Microsoft is responsible, which does not help me one bit.
