    File explorer and other programs crashing


    I thought I had a good life.


    Then Windows Update 1903 auto-installed overnight.


    All of a sudden. my Windows and Outlook profiles were corrupt and many of my programs did not work. I created a new profile to fix the one the update corrupted.


    But File Explorer, Chrome, Acrobat … all crash with regularity. And the business programs that I use also crash with no warning, so I lose information.


    Yes, I have Anti-virus running.


    Yes, I have now updated to the latest Win Update, 1909.


    I have been online with Microsoft support through an Assure plan. I can assure you that it didn't help.


    Am I the only one with these issues?

    Effective Way to Solve the File Explorer Crashes Issue

    You can try the following steps:

    1. Tap down the Windows button first to activate the search bar.
    2. After that, in the search bar type control, and then click on the top-most search result, that is on Control Panel.
    3. Next, in the search bar type file.
    4. Now, from the search results click on File Explorer Options.
    5. Then, click on the Clean button.
    6. Lastly, click on Apply and then on OK.
