Windows 10: File Explorer constantly loading or refreshing, can't see files

When I first turn on my computer, the file explorer works fine. But after a couple minutes, when trying to create a new folder or rename something, the green loading bar appears and the renaming doesn't appear until I exit out of the folder and go back in.


After that happens, if I try to reopen the file explorer, I get this infinite loading screen and none of my files are accessible.

Step by step guide:
1. Hold Win+r to open run
2. Type msconfig and hit ok or enter
3. Click Services
4. Navigate to Windows search (you can sort the list in descending alphabetical order)
5. Uncheck tickbox
6. Click apply then ok
7. Select to restart now

Hi you can simply hit F5 after deleting the file to refresh the explorer search results list.

Bu that, of course, is simply a workaround, not a solution.

 

File Explorer constantly refreshes

Since I upgraded to Windows 10, I've had issues with File Explorer. It refreshes very slowly and often for no reason. The address bar turns green and progresses slowly across.

Also, if I manually do something like re-sort a column by date or name in File Explorer, the Windows 10 version is noticeably slower compared to the Windows 7 version. It may show the message "Working on it" while the mouse icon showing a blue circle, then
the files re-sort. In Windows 7 is was almost instant.
