Windows 10: File Explorer Crash on Lenovo All-In-One When Updating to 1909

As the title says, the file explorer on my computer will go directly to not responding when opened. My update in update checker is stuck at 35% for 1909. I've tried back up recovery but that just stalls at the preparing computer part of the process. I'm going to try to do a recovery install from a USB, but haven't had the chance to yet. Is there anything I can do to avoid doing that?

1. Tap down the Windows button first to activate the search bar.
2. After that, in the search bar type control, and then click on the top-most search result, that is on Control Panel.
3. Next, in the search bar type file.
4. Now, from the search results click on File Explorer Options.

I did the steps you wrote. All the settings were as you suggested. The File Explorer keeps crashing.

and i have files ranging upto 80GB...
