Windows 10: File Explorer crashes after opening any file.

Basically the title. If I open my file explorer, then a document then click back to file explorer, it locks up, my cursor spins. The explorer closes out then opens again in about 5 seconds. It's a huge pain when I need to open say five documents in quick succession.

I've run SFC scan and supposedly repaired the files but that hasn't helped. My event viewer is filled with the following which I'm assuming is the problem:

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

thats wierd... iv never had a large file crash explorer before....


and i have files ranging upto 80GB...

 

PowerPoint file crashes PowerPoint upon opening

since this happens in some of the computers only, suggest that you open the file on working computer and copy everything and paste to a new powerpoint file.
most of the time it works to me. *Smile

Effective Way to Solve the File Explorer Crashes Issue

You can try the following steps:

1. Tap down the Windows button first to activate the search bar.
2. After that, in the search bar type control, and then click on the top-most search result, that is on Control Panel.
3. Next, in the search bar type file.
4. Now, from the search results click on File Explorer Options.
