File Explorer Hanging or Crashing When Creating/Renaming Folders on RDP

I'm a lazy person and I RDP from my home desktop to my work laptop. This is all happening on the same LAN. I believe ever since I was updated to version 2004, anytime I create a new folder or rename a folder, File Explorer either hangs for 5-10 seconds or crashes and restarts. It's not the end of the world since it hasn't crashed or cause any issues, but it's definitely an annoyance when it closes all of my file explorer windows or locks other File Explorer windows.

I've RDPed to this laptop many times, but this issue has only started for the last week or so. Both the desktop and laptop are running Windows 10 Pro version 2004, and I've tried toggling a few of the various RDP configs to no success. This is also all being done over mstsc, and not the msrdc or retro app. Not seeing anything unusual in the event logs either.

File Explorer crashes when creating new folders

    Hi,

Neither of these fixes works. I can also tell you that when I click the 'New Folder' short cut button, I can create it without File Explorer crashing if I leave the name as 'New Folder'. However if I give it a name whilst creating the folder or try renaming
it after creating the folder, File Explorer still crashes.

    Kind Regards

  3. Explorer Not Responding on File Rename

When I create two or more new folders in Explorer (and leave their names to be "New Folder", "New Folder2", etc) they are created correctly. When I then rename them, the first one renames correctly. Then, with the following folders, either Explorer hangs
for about 30 seconds before the second folder is renamed or it crashes immediately, leaving the new folder2 with the name "New Folder2".

File explorer hangs when rename- move- or copy PDF files

In my laptop with windows 10 x64 pro, (Core i7 3520M, Integrated Graphics, 16 Gb RAM and Samsung 850pro SDD with Samsung Rapid Mode enable), for months I have been experiencing momentary hangs of the File Explorer (Sometimes near a minute)
when I perform operations with PDF files including rename, copies and movements of folders with PDF files. I have 20 GB of small PDFs. This problem does not happen with any other type of files.

The problem generates a slowdown of Windows in general, including boot, increasing the use of CPU resources and affecting the indexing, native and 3rd-party, as well as browsers and Windows searches. Sometimes Windows Explorer restarts.

I have tried everything, including recommendations of Microsoft's multiple forums related with hangs and crashes of file explorer in Windows, as well as potential solutions from other sources, Including:

Windows 10 hangs when I create or rename a folder

File Explorer crashes when creating new folders

I have also disable Samsung Rapid mode and changed the default software to run PDF files, also using Microsoft EDGE but nothing.

    Any recommendations?

    Best Regards,

    Juan Guillermo
