Windows 10: File Explorer hangs for 2 minutes or longer only on certain files

I have several files I access daily stored under "documents" tab, all of them work fine but one. It hangs for about 2 minutes every time I tried to search from the search box Same subfolder/file every time. I have deleted this subfolder/file, and re-created it, and reloaded some 2,000+ pdf files, it still hangs on the newly created file. It is not by any stretch the largest or most used of the subfolder/files, one has close to 20,000 pdf files, and is used daily, and never hangs

File Explorer and Recent Files


At work, I'll open files on a network path that is only accessible at work, e.g.

\\mywork.org\shares\file.xyz

These files will appear in my recent list when opening File Explorer (Win+E). The problem I have is at home where that network path is not accessible, and the File Explorer window will HANG for minutes trying to find the file. I can get around it by running CCleaner and cleaning recent files, but I was wondering if there was something else that could be done where I don't have to wipe out my recent list?

Windows Explorer crashing due to large files

So I downloaded project reality a mob for BF2 I used uTorrent to download the file and it check to make sure it wasnt corrupt.

Everytime I try to do anything with the file windows explorer hangs and I have to restart it.

This is the same for the old version of project reality. I cannot delete it.

I have never had this happen.

The files in question are 1.8 GB
