Windows 10: File Explorer Just Aborts

Discus and support File Explorer Just Aborts in Windows 10 Support to solve the problem; I am having no success with File Explorer.     File Explorer Just Aborts


    I am having no success with File Explorer.

    As the title sez, I try to view folders and files, but File Explorer will appear to be fetching the next query result (files from the selected folder), I get the activity icon turning, I'm waiting,..... and then nothing.

    All the task bar icons vanish, the screen reverts to whatever task was active (my web browser usually), ...some time passes, and then all the task bar icons return, but no more active File Explore.

    I can re-open FE,... but I have the same or very similar results.

    Please point me to the right place to understand what's up with File Explorer.

    Until just recently I had no issues, zero using File Explorer!

    I have verified that all Win 10 Updates are current.

    I have restarted and cold started without any positive effect on this problem.

    File explorer icon from taskbar dissappears while working on it

    Hi,

    To assist you with your concern, we suggest you pin the File Explorer from the Start Menu by following these steps:

    • Click the Start Menu.
    • Right-click File Explorer.
    • Choose Pin to taskbar.

    "This file can't be previewed" problem in explorer

    Hi Deborah,

    For us to provide an accurate resolution, kindly elaborate the issue by answering the questions listed below:

    • Since when have you been experiencing this issue?
    • Were there any changes on your PC before this happened like software or updates installed?

    For initial troubleshooting, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

    • Open File Explorer.
    • Access this link

      C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
    • Delete all the files.
    • After deleting the files kindly try and see if there's a thumbnail preview of your files.
