Windows 10: file explorer menu bar half missing

recently the file explorer menu bar became half missing.Successfully fixed this by going into; settings>System display> and altering the scale layout which was set on 200%, altered to 150% which fixed the issue but effected the size of display, I then restarted the PC went back in and altered the same settings back to 200% so the scale was back to my preferred size and the menu bar issue remained resolved!

File explorer ribbon missing

Right click above the Address bar and UNcheck minimize the ribbon? OR... are you looking for the File, Computer, View buttons?

The menu bar can be turned on or off in Internet Explorer. Here's how to display the menu bar if it is turned off.

Please follow the below steps and check if it helps,

To display the menus temporarily

• In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click
  Internet Explorer.
• Press Alt.

To display the menus permanently

• In the search box, type Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click
  Internet Explorer.
• Click the View button, point to Toolbars, and then click
  Menu Bar.

Cannot find Desktop Icon in File Explorer

Now that is interesting. If I do what you suggest, File Explorer Address bar changes to C:\Users\username\documents and the missing ICONS are there. But there is still not a "Desktop" folder.

Is this a step in the right direction?
