Windows 10: File Explorer open to : This PC -- just Doesn't. It used to open to This PC.

File Explorer open to : This PC -- just Doesn't. It used to open to This PC, the "option" to open to This PC is still selected. Yet every time I select the File Explorer taskbar icon (which now calls itself "Libraries") -- File Explorer opens to Quick Access (instead of This PC).


Please do not tell me the "how to change the Folder Options". I've done it. And done it again, & again.

The option is still (always) 'open to This PC', as I want it to be. And, yet, it only (always) opens to Quick Access.

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

File Explorer will not open 'This PC'

I have been following File Explorer problem threads. Originally I could get nothing from it-page would open but no items on page could be opened. Now that I have changed the size of my font (?!), I can open File Explorer and open files EXCEPT 'This PC'.
I tried to use the Win-X keys but File Explorer will not open when you click on it so I could not go further with that solution.

In the search bar, type file explorer options > at the popup box, click File Explorer Options > under general tab, at Open File Explorer to : click the pointer and select This PC > OK when done.





I don't know how to get the " file explorer to open in the same folder as I was using before, in that list."
