Windows 10: File explorer - Set the top columns ?

Please don't tell me to open folder properties and View tab / Apply to all folders, because this does "not" work. Ms default setting is to have the columns at the top Name Date Type Size, etc.Some of my files have long names, and I need to be able to see the full name, so I remove Type to have more room to display the name. I'm sorry but, I do not need the "type" of file displayed, I can look at any icon on my PC and know exactly what type of file it is. I right click and un tick Type, get the folder how I want it took look, open properties, view, and say apply to all folders. I open a d

In order to understand the issue better, I suggest you to answer the below questions.

  How exactly are you trying to expand the left columns in file explorer?
  
• 
  Are you referring to extend the area of the left column in File explorer?
  
• 
  Are you able to expand it in Safe Mode with networking ?
