Windows 10: File explorer view settings

I know how to set the view display when browsing folders, but if I use the search facility, the default view is always Content. I would rather the default view for searches, and indeed all views in File Explorer, to be Details.
How do I change the default?

File Explorer has gone crazy after last nights upgrade.

My only has icons instead of full descriptions. I can not get back to a point where I have tabs that actually say something. Please tell me how to get my view repaired? help... Help.... HELP!!!

 

View settings on the File Explorer are not retained on Windows 10.

Since the issue persists after running System maintenance troubleshooter,
SFC scan and DISM scan, I suggest you to check if similar behavior is shown on another user profile.



Create another administrator user account by referring to Set up accounts on Windows
10 article.



The corrupted user profile does not function normally such as not launching
Start menu, Cortana, Search bar, Store and other
Windows applications. In such cases creating a new profile and checking for the same will help in identifying if the is specific to corrupted user profile or the OS.
