File History - backed up file won't open

I have been using File History in Windows 10 for some time to back up my family history .uds files. Having had a problem and turned to these back ups I find they will not open. I have tried renaming them and moving them back to the original folder but still can't get any of them to open. Is File History corrupting them in some way? Help needed please - many hours of work at stake here.

    :)

File History not backing up any files

    Hello Victor

Thank you for the response. I had already checked that thread, but it hasn't helped me:

    • The thread deals with Windows 8's implementation of File History, which is somewhat different to that of Windows 10.
    • Most of the thread deals with setting up File History (which I have already done, precisely following the recommended steps). The third link in the thread might have been useful since it appears to link to a page that deals with troubleshooting File History
(as opposed to setting it up), but unfortunately the link is dead.
Any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    opening .dds files with gimp

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?
