Windows 10: File system error -805305975

I have just started getting this error when trying to open a photo only tried with jpg files so far. Clicking on a thumbnail usually opens the image in Windows Photo but this doesn't work as of today also if I right-click over the thumbnail, clickopen with and select Photos, I get the same error message. However if I click open with and select Paint orPhotoshop Elements the jpg file opens normally. I have run an error checking scan on the drive with no errors found and checked Windows Update but I appear to be up to date version Win 10 2004 OS Build 19041.508.


It may be unrelated but I have also noticed another problem. I have Dropbox installed on my phone/camera and my pc and it is setup to automatically backup all images to a Dropbox folder. I sometimes edit photos using my phones editing features and these images are stored in a different folder so I also have Dropsync installed on the photo to also backup edited images to the same Dropbox folder. Also noted today that there are some images missing when comparing what's on the phone in the gallery folder and also in the photo editor folder. I have spent the last several days away from phone/data/wifi but re-connected yesterday and have refreshed today to make sure the backup is up to date but still some images are not in the Dropbox folder. I do seem to be able to manually backup images to Dropbox but this sems to change the creation date which makes sorting difficult.


Any suggestions regarding these problems would be welcome, although I realise the Dropbox issue may be different and outside the realm of this forum.

file system error -805305975 ?

I recently transferred a number of photos from my Moto X4 to my Windows 10 laptop... now I don't seem to be able to access the images. They appear in thumbnail, at folder level and all the metadata is also available but when I attempt to view the images
I get the above "File System Error -805305975" and a failure to open the files.

Any ideas? I assume there is some sort of corruption of the image file in transfer... they appear to be available but won't open past thumbnail size.

When I try to open jpeg photos I get "file system error (-805305975).

When I try to play a music file I keep getting File System Error (-805305975) popping up and the file won't work. Is there any way to fix this error?
