  1. Files in a folder show excessively higher size, even more than the drive size.

I am running Windows 10 Home. Some files in a folder are showing excessively higher size on my drive 14.8 TB. The drive is actually just 110 GB in size. Apparently, it's not creating any issue except that if I need to transfer that folder to another place, I can't because of the drive size.I did run chkdsk drive letter:/f on powershell but no resolution. How do I fix it, please help.

    :)

To show or not show file/folder size

Is there a setting to use to show the size of folders in Windows File Explorer?

Using One Drive is driving me one way for sure. I have many questions but this one relates to Windows File Explorer. Though Windows File Explorer gives the option of File Size, it does not show the size for folders, only for separate files. I am uploading
folders to One Drive ( a VERY time consuming process, to say the least). I dare not select more than 2 GB to upload, because it will stall.

When I drop folders in the Upload area, the folders are created in One Drive, but for some reason not all photos are uploaded. One Drive does not tell me it failed to upload, it does not show progress, it does not move all the files in big folders.

It is very successful at failing. It fails almost without fail.

So, having One Drive open, and the source folder open in File Explorer, showing side by side, I find that One Drive shows the folder size, but File Explorer does not.
Is there a setting to use to show the size of folders in Windows File Explorer?

It has taken me dozens of attempts for over a week now to move 220 GB of folders to my 1 Terabyte One Drive. More than a week. That makes for a weak system.

Change in folder size after enabling Bitlocker

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

We understand you concern related to the size of the folder displayed. Try these steps to narrow down the issue:

    1. Disable bitlocker
and then check the folder size.
    2. We would also suggest you to open the folder and select all files and see the size of the contents.

Let us know if the size of the contents matches the folder size. If you see a difference, then the folder might be showing incorrect size.

Kindly reply us with the requested information to assist you better.

    Awaiting for your response.

    Directory Size Utility

First of all nice utility, Mindweaver!
Second of all, it's so nice to see that this section ain't dead.

    I have a few questions/suggestions, maybe you'd want to see ...
    • maybe you rename Get Folder button caption to something more intuitive? Add Folder, Get Folder Size, Check Folder Size or something like that?
    • Could you add subfolder files to the right pane? (it can be a tickbox with include sub dirs)
    • maybe you also add export list to excel?
    • there's delete file button maybe you add delete folder button too?
    • and finally maybe you can add UP button for directories?
