Windows 10: Files lost after update - win11

After an update I noticed that all of my files in my User folder are gone. Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, etc. Restarting the computer 4 times as observed in some posts has not helped. There is no .bak user in the registry.The ProfileImagePath is C:\Users\<correct user> I can see a user folder in Windows.old with a size of 9GB, however I cannot see any files when I open the subfolders within it. I've tried the windows file recovery with no avail. Lost in terms of what to try next. Thanks.
