Windows 10: Files lost after Windows 10 update

Hi,


yesterday I updated my Laptop to 1903 (it is mainly used to store files) and after that my files were moved to an extra Folder called windows.old. So after that I moved the files to my normal folders and kept working. Today I installed another update and after that my files were away again. But this time I can't find them at all. There is no new folder. The windows.old folder was removed and it seems like the current Windows folder is the windows.old folder. Is there a way to restore those files because I need them and there is no way to restore them from another hard drive or usb stick.

• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
