    finding my IP address

I have a HP all in one Desktop with Windows 10. I need to find the location for my IP address. To view the IP address of a wireless connection, select WiFi on the left menu pane and click Advanced Options, your IP address will appear next to "IPv4 Address. I don't have IPv4 in the Advanced settings for WiFi connection in my settings.

I try to follow Microsoft's instructions, but nothing works well since I bought my computer with Windows 10 already installed.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this. If you need to, you can call me after 10:00 am EST at 1-941-764-1246. But I'll try to use written instructions if they are different than the line above: To view the IP address of a wireless connection, select WiFi on the left menu pane and click Advanced Options, your IP address will appear next to "IPv4 Address. And that's because IPv4 in the advanced settings for Wi-Fi settings.

  2. IP Address

    Hi Will,

You might need your computer's IP address if you want to set up an Internet connection, allow other people to connect to your PC, or need to troubleshoot network problems. Kindly follow these steps to find the IP address of your computer:

    • Select the Start button , start typing View network connections, and then select it in the list.
    • Select an active network connection, and then, in the toolbar, select
      View status of this connection
. (You might need to select the chevron icon to find this command.)
    • Select Details. (Your PC's IP address appears in the
      Value
      column, next to IPv4 Address).
Let us know whenever you need further assistance.

    Finding printer IP address

Aha! It's easy when you know how.

Your printer's IP address is probably assigned dynamically - meaning it could be different every time - by your router. Open your router's administration console (which you password-protected, right?) and look for the list of clients to find out what IP
    has been assigned.

If you want to reliably locate your printer by it's IP address, it's better to assign it a static - i.e., unchanging - IP address. This is also done in the router's administration console.

Here's another way to find the IP: Go to Control Panel and open Devices and Printers. Right-click on the printer's icon and select Properties. In the Properties sheet, open the Web Services tab and look on the bottom.

There are probably other methods, but the Russians may be watching this forum.
