Windows 10: Finger stopped working and i cannot set up a pin

So basically, my fingerprint sensor was not detecting my fingerprint i guess and i had to login with my password. So In order to fix it, i deleted my fingerprint and now to make one i need to enter a pin which i don't think i made. And in order to set up a new pin, it is asking for my PIN to verify its me. This is so complex and weird, can someone please help me with this? What do i do?

Hi Kevin,

To resolve your concern about creating pin to your computer, we suggest that you follow these steps:

• Navigate to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC (click to get permission when prompted).
• Delete the contents of that folder (delete everything in that folder, but leave that folder and everything above it).
• Go back to settings, accounts, sign in options.
• Your non-working pin will now be gone, and you can just click 'add a pin' and set it again.

Try the steps here:

• Navigate to PC Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in options. Click on I forgot my PIN link.
• Next, click on the Continue button in the Are you sure you forgot your PIN? screen.
• You can now add a new PIN and click OK.

 

PIN and finger print stopped working

I had my PIN and fingerprint set up to login to my Dell XPS and had been working just fine for the first month I had my machine. I went to use it tonight and it said there was an error when I touched the fingerprint pad. It asked me to enter my PIN, but
did nothing, then that login option wasn't available anymore on the login screen. Now I must login with my password and I cannot create a PIN or fingerprint to login. When I click to add a PIN it just stops the process and does nothing. Why would this just
stop working randomly and not allow me to create a new one? I have rebooted the machine multiple times and nothing is happening.
