    Hi,

    Thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

    I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it fixes the issue.

    Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

    Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

    • Press Windows key + W and type troubleshooting.
    • Select Troubleshooting.
    • Select View all on the top left corner.
    • Click Hardware and Devices.
    • Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.
    Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall the driver

    I suggest you to try uninstall the fingerprint
    drivers check if it works for you.

    Follow the steps to uninstall the Fingerprint
    drivers:

    • Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
    • Right-click on the Fingerprint device listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
    • Select the option to Delete driver software.
    • Restart the computer after its uninstalled.
    Try to access the device manufacturer's website and download and install the latest chipset and Fingerprint
    drivers.

    Method 3

    If issue still persists, I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Fingerprint
    drivers in Compatibility mode and check if it works:

    Follow the steps to uninstall the Fingerprint
    driver:

    • Press Windows Key + X key.
    • Click on Device Manager.
    • Right-click on the Fingerprint device listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
    • Select the option to Delete driver software.
    • Restart the computer after its uninstalled.
    Now download the drivers the manufacturer website and install it in Windows 8.1 compatibility mode. Follow the steps provided below to install the drivers in compatibility mode:

    • Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
    • Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select Windows 8.1 operating system from the drop down.
    • Click on ‘Apply’ and click ‘OK’ and run the file to install it.

  3. Interface software for Synaptics WBF fingerprint driver

    Hello Chicago Bulls,

    To better assist you with your concern, I'd like to know the following:

    • Confirm which build is currently installed on your device. To check, follow the steps below:
    1. Press Windows key + R, then type in winver.
    2. Click OK.
    • Are you getting any error messages when trying to set up your fingerprint?
    • Were there any recent changes made prior to this issue?

    Meanwhile, make sure that your laptop has the latest driver installed for Synaptics WBF Fingerprint Driver. According to
    HP's website, the latest driver is version
    4.5.345.0 Rev.A.

    If your laptop is already running the latest driver for the fingerprint device, try to uninstall and reinstall the driver:

    1. Press Windows key + R, then type in devmgmt.msc and press
    Enter.

    2. In the Device Manager window, locate the
    Synaptics WBF Fingerprint Driver
    and right-click on it.

    3. Select Uninstall.

    4. Reboot your computer and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

    5. If Windows doesn't find a new driver, you can try looking for one on the device manufacturer's website and follow their instructions.

    We appreciate your effort in troubleshooting the issue and providing us the detailed information.

    In this scenario you have already tried to install the Fingerprint utility driver in compatibility mode. We would suggest you to uninstall the biometric driver from the device manager and then install the

    tc30609200e.exe
    driver. Steps to uninstall the driver completely.

    1. Press Windows + X, select
      Device Manager
      .
    2. Expand Keyboard device.
    3. Right click on all the listed devices, then select
      Uninstall device.
    4. Check the box beside Delete the driver software for this device.
    5. Click Ok and use the installer to install the driver.

    In addition we would also suggest you to enable
    Windows Hello feature using Fingerprint Reader
    and check the Fingerprint login.
