Windows 10: FingerPrint Scanner Not detectable after BIOS Software Update.

Hi, after installing the recent update on April14th 2020, my finger print scanner has stopped working. I have checked the device manager, the Biometric Devices has been hidden -- Upon choosing "Show hidden Devices" in the View Tab, I can see the Biometric device and Goodix Fingerprint.


Upon opening the Goodix Fingerprint - I am seeing this message :-
"Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. Code 45

To fix this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer."


Can someone please help. I have installed and updated the latest BIOS Update, but when I am installing and updating the 14 April 2020 version Update of the Goodix Fingerprint - I receive a message "Goodix fingerprint device was not found!"


Prior to the update, I was using the fingerprint scanner, quite smoothly. Only after the update did the fingerprint scanner went un-recognizable.


I have contacted the customer service executive, but could not receive any help. I am covered in a valid Basic Warranty plan. Someone please help me.

To resolve this issue try the following steps:

• 
  Have you updated the driver for the Finger Print scanner? If not, check on the manufacturer’s website (HP).
  
• 
  Check if installing the latest driver of the fingerprint scanner allows you to login using a Microsoft Account?
  

This issue might occur due to driver incompatibility since upgrading to Windows 10.



If you have the raw executable file of the corresponding driver for the validity sensor, I would suggest you to install the downloaded driver file in compatible mode with Windows 7 or 8. Refer to the following steps to do so.

• 
  Right click on the driver, and click on Properties.
  
• 
  Go to the Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check the box for Run this program in compatibility mode for:
  
• 
  Select Windows 7 in the list of Operating systems.
  
• 
  Click OK.
  
• 
  Double-click the driver file to install the driver and follow the onscreen instructions.
  
• 
  Reboot your computer.

Method 1:
Hardware and devices troubleshooter

The built-in hardware and devices troubleshooter can automatically detect and fix most of the incorrect settings and errors that could cause issues with hardware. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if there is any issue with
the display adapter. Refer top these steps:

• a) Open Control Panel
• b) Click on Troubleshooting and select the
  view all option on the left pane.
• c) Click on Hardware and devices troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

Try method 2, if the issue persist

Method 2:
Update Driver Software from the Manufacturer’s website:

There could be a possibility of corrupt or incompatible fingerprint scanner drivers. You may refer to the manufactures’ website and install the latest fingerprint scanner drivers for the device.
