Windows 10: Fingerprint scanner not working on my laptop after changing to windows

My fingerprint scanner/login was working until recently and I am not sure how to fix it. I upgraded to windows 10 on my laptop from windows 8 and then the scanner stopped working. When i go the settings/sign-in options the ability to set-up the fingerprint icon is there, however after i click on set-up and get started I don't get the screen option to input my pin. I have already set-up a pin which i use to log onto my computer. I would greatly appreciate any assistance with this issue. I have attached screen-shots of the three steps.

Fingerprint Scanner Not Working

I am running a HP dv6t-6b00 Notebook which uses a Validity Sensor (WBF) {OD=0018 fingerprint scanner. I have used it with Window 7 extensively.

I have been using the Technical Preview version of Windows 10 sporadically for several months. My fingerprint scanner has always worked. Yesterday, I did a clean install on Windows 7 followed immediately by the Windows 10 final release version. As soon as
I inscalled the driver for the scanner, it started working. I used it to log into my computer several times.

Then it stopped working. I BELIEVE it was after I changed my login from a local account to my Microsoft ID. When I go to my account page and open the Login Options, I no longer have the option of using fingerprint to login.

Unfortunately the above recommendation didn't resolve the problem. I'm still finding that the fingerprint scanner doesn't read my fingerprint after my laptop goes to sleep.
