  1. Fingers crossed for 1803

1803 threatened to pounce upon me a couple of weeks ago. I instantly "metered" away the threat.

But today, on a whim I let it fly ... and it installed. Well, slap me silly ...

It threw a few new shortcuts on the desktop and on the quick launch bar.
    No sweat. Just delete.

But more troubling: It seemed to ruin the latency on my piano software by messing with the external audio interface (a Presonus Audiobox).
It seems that the "Presonus Universal Control" software had its buffer setting reset to "relaxed".
I changed it back to "minimum" and it's working again.

Meanwhile the default/desktop speakers didn't work.
The 1803 installation changed the default sound.
Changing it back to the built-in Realtek audio fixed that.

Sandboxie was broken. I had to install a new version.
Fortunately it was easy to find others online who had the same problem in 1803, and fixed it with the new version of Sandboxie.

And AVG antivirus was broken. It wouldn't run. Wouldn't scan. Wouldn't even show a window on screen.
    So I rebooted. Still broken.
I installed a new version. Still broken.
I rebooted yet again ... and AVG is finally working again.

So ... they call this an upgrade? The only new things here are ... the damages it has done.
Exactly how is that an upgrade?
    Sux.

    :)
