Windows 10: Firefox 63 is now available with Windows 10 integration improvements

Mozilla today released a new update for its Firefox web browser. The latest update pushes the browser to version 63.0 and is available for download on Windows.

The latest update is rolling out to all supported platforms today (October 23). Mozilla continues to bring new features and improvements to its web browser by updating the browser regularly.

The update to Mozilla Firefox comes with support for running WebExtensions on Linux which help in consuming less memory and CPU usage. The update also brings the ability to warn users when there are multiple tabs and windows open when attempting to quit the browser from the main menu.

The Firefox 63.0 version brings some great and new improvements for Windows users. The update improves the Windows 10 integration meaning you will now be able to match the Windows 10 OS Dark and Light theme modes with the Firefox theme.

There are significant improvements made to the performance of the web browser with Mozilla adding the support for Clang/LLVM compiler for Firefox’s build infrastructure.

The company has removed the Sidebar feature for individual bookmarks which was added in the previous update along with removing the option to never check for updates from about>preferences.

Firefox 63.0 brings some improvements to the web developers with Mozilla now enabling the Dev Tools accessibility inspector by default along with adding support for Web Components custom elements.

The update also fixes a bug which prevented the address bar from automatically filling bookmarked URLs. The latest update to the Firefox browser “Quantum” with new version 63.0 is available for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android right now if you are wanting to test the features before the official release tomorrow.

New Windows Media Player Plugin for Firefox

Anyone who uses Windows Vista and Mozilla Firefox may be pleased to hear that the Windows Media Player team has now released a plugin for Firefox that should allow the browser to play WMP content on websites. Here are the steps to get it working:

• Installation of the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin may require administrative access to your PC. It is recommended that you close all other open browser windows before continuing with the installation.
• Click the Install button to automatically download and install the Windows Media Player Firefox Plugin.
• Depending on your security settings, you may see a Security Warning dialog box. Click Install to install the plugin.

There is a known issue if you are using Firefox version 2.0.0.3 on Windows Vista with the installer failing with error code -203. To work around this simply restart Firefox (you will get a notification that Windows Vista will be changing the Firefox compatibility settings) and then install again - the second time should succeed.

The download is available here, and the new plugin works on all versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (although it is mostly intended for Vista, as that currently has no WMP support in Firefox).

Video Issues in Windows 10 With Firefox

Please provide the following information with us to understand the issue better.

  Is the issue occurs in Microsoft Edge?
  

• 
  Let us know whether the issue is specific to online videos or it is happening with other videos present in your system too?
  
  As the initial troubleshooting steps, I would suggest you to check all the available Windows Updates. Installation of recent Windows Updates should fix the issue.
  
  If the issue still persists, then try updating the Display driver and check. Here is the steps:
  

• Press Windows Key + R on your desktop screen to go to run command box.
• Type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.
• In Display Adapter, expand Display Adapter, right-click , and then click
  Update.

If the issues persists ,only with firefox then i suggest you to contact firefox support.

Hyper V Integration Services are not Available

I followed the instructions below, and when I go to hit the action menu after I connect to the VM to install Integration services, there is no such option under the Action Menu to Insert Integration Services Setup Disk . The instructions
seem so simple but I seem to be missing something. Thanks in advance for any insight.

Step 4: Install or upgrade integration services
Hyper-V includes a software package for supported guest operating systems that improves integration between the physical computer and the virtual machine. This package is referred to as integration services. To learn more, see Integration
Services.

This step can't be automated or done within a Windows PowerShell session.

To install integration services

• 
  Open Hyper-V Manager. From the Server Manager Tools menu, click Hyper-V Manager.
  
• 
  Connect to the virtual machine. Right-click the name of the virtual machine and click Connect.
  
• 
  From the Action menu of Virtual Machine Connection, click Insert Integration Services Setup Disk. This action loads the setup disk in the virtual DVD drive. Depending on the guest operating system installed, you may need to start the installation
  manually.
  
• 
  After the installation finishes, all integration services are available for use.
