Windows 10: Firefox just stopped working today - nothing, not even tools , loads

This is actually an issue with my wife's Windows 10 computer.

It was working fine earlier today - I was on it doing something. Then, still running, I right-clicked on a link to open in a new tab, and a new tab opened and nothing loaded. Thought I'd made a mistake and typed in an address. Nothing. Then it started working with me doing nothing more.

Now my wife brings the computer over, and she's having the problem. Even if I try to load tools or options or addons, or type about:config - nothing loads. Just a blank tab. I can open tabs to my heart's content. Just can't put content in them.

Internet is fine and other browsers are working fine accessing the web.

Firefox has the same problem in safe mode, or if refreshed, by the way.

Firefox crashes non-stop!!!

Suggest any methods to stop Firefox from crashing. It crashes right after starting, no more than a second or 3..

Any cache, plugins, antivirus things that might cause it? It is very, very annoying...

 

Firefox does not work on start up

I suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Firefox
and check if it fixes the issue. Follow the steps below to uninstall
Firefox:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click on Programs and Features.
• Look for Firefox and right click on it and click on
  uninstall.
• Reboot the computer after uninstall is complete and try to reinstall them.

Firefox 3.6 released

it's working great - tip for anyone moving to 3.6 and finding some addons aren't compatible and so are not enabled can install the nightly tester tools addon and then they can force firefox to run addons which it was stopping before - i did this on firethrottle, tab preview and firetorrent and they all work fine, just not updated with compatability listed for the new browser.
