Windows 10: Fix Error 0xA00F4244

My Advent Webcam worked fine with the Microsoft Camera App until a few months ago. Now I get code 0xA00F4244 <No Cameras are Attached>. This is not so - the camera works fine with Skype so why not with the App? I've tried most of the stuff recommended by Microsoft - none of it has worked. Can you help?

You can try using the windows default driver.
Right click the device in device manager, and select update, then browse for drivers my computer, then select let me pick from a list, then select USB Video device:
