Windows 10: Fix needed for Windows 10 update error 0x80096004

for an HP Elitebook laptop, previously upgraded from Windows 7

As a Windows Insider, update version 17046.1000 is shown as available, but every attempt to download gets the same error message: 0x80096004.

Have tried numerous fixes including MS update repair, registry repair, etc, etc.

Any suggestions which do NOT include using system restore, or a paid repair app?

Windows 10 update error 0x80096004

Tried this, it said it had worked but when I checked the updates the Office xp service pack 3 update was still listed and wont update, keeps failing and giving the error code 0x80096004, pretty annoying to say the least in what is supposed to be the new all
singing all dancing Windows 10. Anyone else got any suggestions please ?.
