Windows 10 - Nvidia GeForce - Update needed but Program doesn't open (Nvidia GeForce Experience)

I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall the Nvidia GeForce graphic card
driver from the manufacturer website and check, if it works. Refer to the following steps to uninstall the
Nvidia GeForce graphic card driver from the Device Manager.



a. Click on Windows key + X key and then, select Device Manager.

b. Locate and expand “Display Adaptor” in the Device Manager Window.

c. Right-click on the “Display Adaptor” and click on “uninstall" the
Nvidia GeForce graphic card driver.

d. Restart the computer and check, if it works.

error hresult e_fail has been returned

Hi

Running Windows 10. It was working fine until two days ago. Due to a fatal error with C+++ where I could not run Firefox, Steam and a couple of other programes (including repair and reinstall for windows 10. I had to put windows 7 back on, from a disk, and
then up-grade to windows 10 again. Well several hours later I had most of my software back on my SSD drive including NVIDIA GForce Experience.

Ran programe and had no issues.

Installed a few more games

Ran Experience again to max the graphics on the games

Got a warning box with "Unable to start NVIDIA update service due to "error hresult e_fail has been returned from a call to a COM component." GForce experience must close"

I have tried to reinstall the programe but still same error.

I have tried searching the WWW but to be honest most sites are way above my knowledge and talk about diffenrent programes. Plus most are a couple of years out of date to windows 10.

Any help would be nice.

What does "hresult e_fail has been returned from a call to a com component" mean?

Hi everyone,

Can you help

Everytime I open Nvidia GeForce I get this Message:
hresult e_fail has been returned from a call to a com component

I googled E_fail it showed me this nummber 0x80004005(had to google because there was no nummber on the error message).

I tried to install GeForce new (twice), didn't work. Nvidia told me it's not on of their bugs. So the problem has to be something else.

Here is also a picture (I use Windows 10)
