Unable to Install Cumulative Updates with error 0x800703f9

Hello

For about a few months, I've been unable to install the Windows 10 Cumulative updates and an update for windows 10.

I get the following messages every time I try to update

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176938) - Error 0x800703f9

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3190507) - Error 0x800703f9

Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3201921) - Error 0x800703f9

Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3176936) - Error 0x800703f9

After searching around for the error code, I've found several suggestions both on this forum and other forums.

I've tried these set of solutions

FIX: 0x800703f9 Windows 10/11 update error

The windows update troubleshooter simply deletes the installation files and the same problem occurs again.

Trying the SFC /Scannow command brings some problems. I get the message that "Windows Resource protection could not perform the requested operation" I think I did manage to successfully run the check in safe mode.

I have tried chkdsk, and everything is working fine.

I have tried the commands for Dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth /restorehealth

and get the following error. I can provide the log file.

[== 4.5% ]

Error: 1017

The system has attempted to load or restore a file into the registry, but the specified file is not in a registry file format.

I believe something maybe corrupt within the system.

If anybody can help me out, I'd be grateful. I enjoy not having to have my computer forcibly restarted by windows update, but would also like to try the new features such as the blue light filter.

 

Windows error 8024402F Fix?

You tried setting to not get updates then rebooting and then turning it back on ?


I did come across this too, but only gives a MAYBE fix LMAO.
