Feature update to Windows 10 Pro version 1607 error 0xc1800118 From Wsus on Server 2016

Hello,

I have read a number of posts and blogs about error 0xc1800118 occurring when trying to add "Feature update to Windows 10 Pro version 1607" and how they refer to patch 3159706 but this is only for WSUS on Server 2012. I have just setup WSUS on Server 2016
and migrated from WSUS on Sever 2008. After the migration I approved the upgrades and downloaded them from Windows Update.

I am getting error 0xc1800118 when trying to apply this feature update to my clients.

Is there an equivalent patch 3159706 for Server 2016 or is there some other method of correcting this?

On the client PCs I have cleared the patch history and downloads prior to attempting the update but it makes no difference.

Anniversary 1607 update error 0xc1800118

I went through all the steps outlined in KB3194588 on my Server 2012 R2 WSUS (6.3.9600.18324)

Still getting 0xc11800118 on the clients after downloading the upgrade and trying to start installing.

My DB was in a "Bad State" - but it looks like it was corrected:

1> declare @NotNeededFiles table (FileDigest binary(20) UNIQUE);

2> insert into @NotNeededFiles(FileDigest) (select FileDigest from tbFile where FileName like '%14393%.esd' except select FileDigest from tbFileForRevision);

3> delete from tbFileOnServer where FileDigest in (select FileDigest from @NotNeededFiles)

4> delete from tbFile where FileDigest in (select FileDigest from @NotNeededFiles);

5> go

Re enabled the upgrades, and re-synched my WSUS server.

On the client:

Stopped the Windows update service on the client, and deleted the c:\windows\SoftwareDistribution folder as well as the c:\$Windows.bt folder.

Rechecked for updates on the client - still getting the 0xc1800118 error.

Any other suggestions?

 

Windows 10 will not activate Error code 0x803F7001

Possibly there can be the problem with Microsoft activation Server, so your Windows 10 is not activated. In this scenario, you need to wait and verify if it is the issue from Microsoft’s side. But if you are getting error code 0x803f7001, you can also try these steps:

1. Open Settings app. Then go to Update and security > Activation screen > Change product.
2. Type your Windows edition product key and click Next.
3. You’ll get We couldn’t activate Windows error message.
4. Retry steps 1-3 then type your 25-characters unique product key.
5. Wait for the process to complete, Windows 10 is activated.
