Windows 10: FLAC file not playing in its original location

I have a .flac file named "11-Quintet for Piano, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, and Bassoon in E Flat Major, KV.452 II.Larghetto" in a Folder with the same name located on a USB Drive at G:\Music\Mozart Opera Omnia\Mozart Opera Omnia - 255 - Chamber - Cd 031-040\CD-031\11-Quintet for Piano and Winds, KV 452 II Larghetto. When I try to play it on my Laptop, it does not open in any of the Media Players including VLC and PotPlayer. It however starts playing if I change its name to "11-Quintet for Piano and Winds, KV 452 II Larghetto" or if I locate it one level up without changing its name in the Folder

Cast to Device in Windows for .flac files

In the file explorer you can cast music to a dlna device. This works for wma, wav and all other native Windows audio files. Unfortunately this doesn't work for .flac files although Windows should support flac now in Windows 10.

When I start with a wma file and casts this to my dlna reciever, it works. When I manually add .flac files to the play list, the flac files are streamed also to the dlna server. So some how Windows does support flac, but didn't implement this in the user
interface.

Please, is there someone that can fix and complement this for me in Windows 10?

Windows Phone does not play FLAC natively. You can however stream FLAC files (transcoded to mp3) using
Plex..



Then there's
Flac Player in the store as well.

 

One FLAC file has incorrent Context Menu & Doesn't Accept file association.

I had already re-ripped the file from an original Warner Classics CD manufactured by Optimal Media GmbH.

So I tried your suggestion converting the .flac to .mp3 and then back to .flac. That worked! I then tried coverting .flac to .flac and that worked also.

I hope that, either way, the music content is ok, but it's hard to say. (I'm not an audiophile, haha.)

I used dBpoweramp for ripping and converting.
