Windows 10: Flight Simulator Activation Issues

Ok guys, so I've bought an actual copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator X (Gold Edition) a couple of years ago. I've been running it on my laptop for years now without issue. There were times where I had to do the infamous complete clean install of Win 10 a couple of times to resolve some issues (she's 8 years old already). But with every install of FSX it went smoothly, and activation surprisingly still worked.


I've recently considered a development project where I would be required to integrate and read some stuff from an ongoing flight in FSX. So, I mainly need the SDK to do the development but because I'm doing all of this on a relatively newer laptop now, I'll need an actual flight to see if I can get the correct data and so forth, during the development phase.


So I've installed FSX on this laptop now, and when I enter the product key as I read it off that yellow label it responds: The product key entered is incorrect or invalid. Obviously I've checked it a million times and there's no typos there. Is there anyone that has experienced a similar fate? And how did you get it resolved?


I've tried contacting Microsoft through their chat app, and they keep responding that they can't assist (because FSX is not on the product list you have to select nor is 'other') and that I have to chat to a Windows Rep to help me with these issues. I mean what is going on? I'm doing everything I'm supposed to, and have done a couple of times before (just on a different system). Anyway, I can't install the Acceleration Pack (I've tried that key too) because the main product needs to be activated first. So yeah, kinda stuffed here.


Any advice or help will be appreciated!

Microsoft Flight Simulator issue after Windows 10 Upgrade

I suggest you to completely uninstall Microsoft Flight Simulator and check.

Refer the steps below to uninstall.

• Press “Windows key + X”, select Control panel.
• Open programs and features.
• In the list of installed programs, select Microsoft Flight Simulator, and then click
  Remove.

Note: If you have earlier versions of Flight Simulator in the list of installed programs, you will have to remove them in addition to Flight Simulator.



Reinstall the Flight Simulator.
