Windows 10: Focus jumps away from search button/search boxes

I cannot use my search button on the task bar anymore, as every time I click it, nothing seems to happen.Sometimes I see it opening in a flash, but it immediately closes again and the window I was previously on gets the focus again. So it is not so much that the search doesn't work, it's that I can't keep it selected long enough to type anything.I see something similar happen in other search boxes like in the settings, File Exporer,..., where the suggestions once I start typing only briefly appear.Weirdly enough the problem seems related to an Issue I have in OneNote, where I can't drag/resi

• 
  Right click on the task bar.
  
• 
  Go to Cortana.
  
• 
  Click on show search box.
  

Now check if you are able to find search box.

Which is why I suggested he try there instead. TPU is too limited of a user base to search here alone for anything gaming related.

I would suggest you to run search and indexing troubleshooter
and check. Please follow these steps:

• Right click on Start and select Control panel.
• Find troubleshooting and click on it.
• Click "View all" and then click "Search and Indexing".
  
  Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.
