Windows 10: Folder converted into blank file automatically

A folder on my external hdd got converted into a blank file automatically without me doing anything.

I plugged it in to upload some images on the internet when I found that my folder was suddenly a file.

How do I revert this back? A lot of important files in there.

First off, create a folder to only hold the videos you want to convert and then move all those files into that folder.


Now in the Handbrake program choose Source – Folder and then select the folder you just created when you browse. Make sure you don’t open the folder, just select the folder.

Handbrake will now go through the folder and select all the files in the folder and list them as Titles.
Make your handbrake selections as usual and then you manually go through each Title, select it and do a Add to Queue.

It would be nice to select all titles at once, but possibly they may add that feature later.

Now you can just run your Queue and wait for all your files to be automatically converted.

The option converting m4a files to wma files in windows 10 is disappeared

• What app are you using to convert the files?

I don't use any app to convert the files. I just copy the m4a files from my music folder. Then I paste the m4a files in my android phone drive that connected to my laptop. Then a windows pop-up that shows the option converting m4a files to wma files appears.
You can see the windows pop-up in below picture. Now the windows pop-up is disappeared.

• When did the issue start to happen?

I found this problem last week. However, I didn't convert m4a files to wma files since May, 2017.

• Were there any changes made to your device prior to the issue?

I updated windows several times prior to the issue.

• Have you done any troubleshooting steps so far?

I haven't done any troubleshooting steps.
