  1. Fonts/Unicode Characters

So I was deleting some preinstalled fonts like Microsoft fonts and things like Arial Bold.

The reason I did this is because there are a lot of preinstalled fonts and I'm always downloading new fonts for creative purposes.

I deleted a bunch of these fonts so that it would be easier for me to find the new fonts I had installed without scrolling through useless fonts e.g. Arial Italic, Arial Bold - you know what I mean.

I then restarted my Windows 10 HP laptop and then suddenly symbols like colons were no longer showing up.

Then I realised there were more things that changed like fonts in my folder. They appear more bold and thick and definitely not like it was before.

Could someone please help me? I think I might have to download all the fonts I deleted again.

  2. Type a Unicode Character

You can convert numbers from decimal to hex to octal to binary. But those are the numbers used as Unicode code points. They're the "serial numbers" for characters.

But the alt codes are a different. They're not related to the Unicode code points. There is no numerical conversion from Unicode codes to alt codes.

Alt codes predate Unicode by a decade or so. Alt codes are just arbitrary numbers that Microsoft assigned. So you have to look up the key codes. Do a google search to find a complete list.

Using the bengali Unicode based Fonts

    Hello Everybody !

I'm wondering if it is possible to use the Bengali Unicode based fonts in Windows Mobile 6.5. Usually i like to visit a lot of bengali websites which are written in unicode based bengali fonts. But unfortunately when i try to visit them in my HTC
HD2 they just represent some square blocks. for example :
    মুক্তমনা বাংলা ব্লগ – বিজ্ঞান, যুক্তি, মুক্তচিন্তা

this is the site i like to visit. can u guys tell me a way so that my phone'll show the characters correctly instead of showing those blocks ?

    Fonts/Unicode Characters

What Unicode characters can be used in Win .txt files?

Yes you can save .txt as Unicode. For example X².txt

I don't think you can enter them in notepad (or Notepad++) using 00B2 Alt X (which is ²) although it works in Word.

You can use the built in windows program Character Map and copy/paste from the clipboard though into Notepad. See Insert ASCII or Unicode Latin-based symbols and characters - Office Support

When you save change the encoding to Unicode (you can make the filename Unicode also if you save to NTFS)

Here are the unicode characters supported by the Consolas font but I think copy paste from Character Map is easier personally.
