Windows 10: For anyone struggling with the Windows Movies & TV App, particularly the black screen...

Everyone, and I mean everyone has issues with this app and for whatever reason this issue is not being addressed. No, you're drivers are up to date and fine. You do not need to make a new administrator account or mess around with Powershell trying to uninstall it then reinstall it. All these options are useless, Microsoft clearly messed something up in the coding and for some reason is refusing to fix it. Easy solution is... just use an alternative. My recommendation is VLC Player. Easy to use, versatile, one of the best apps out there period. Hope this helped

Movies & TV app not working properly.

I suggest you to un-install and re-install Movies & TV App and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key.
• Type Windows Powershell.
• Right click on it and select Run as administrator.
• Type in the following command to un-install Movies & TV App.

get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneVideo* | remove-appxpackage

Note: The Movies & TV App can be reinstalled using the Store App or by following the link mentioned below. You will need to exit the Store app if it is already open before reinstalling the app.

Movies & TV app stream to XBox One

From the description provided, I understand that the cast button functionality is not working in Movies and TV App.

As an initial recommendation, I would suggest you to run the App Troubleshooter for Windows 10 and check if it helps.

  in search, right click on it and Open as administrator .
