Force Windows 10 to 5.1 sound

I have projector which has stereo sound, but I have 5.1 speakers with hdmi or optical input.

I have splitter pass through whith 4k 60Hz hdmi input and 4k 60Hz hdmi otuput and optical output.

Problem is that Windows 10 thinks it is projector connected to PC and force 2.0 sound.

How to force Windows to play 5.1 Dolby sound to HDMI output?

    :)

sound distorted after windows 10 anniversary upgrade

This is where I'm at on my HP laptop with Windows 10 and the Anniversary update.

I completed step #3 "hardware and sound" but that took me to an option for "sound, speakers." There was no "properties" as step #4 suggests. I selected "sound, speakers" and then found "properties." After selecting "properties" there was no "enhancements
    tab" as step #5 suggests.

Regardless, I then uninstalled the realtek audio driver. I noticed that when I did this without restarting my laptop that the sound was now tinny, but not distorted as it was previously. After restarting, the sound was again full, yet distorted.

Realtek still shows in my programs list, though it shows no memory is used.

    Thanks for your continued help.

Force Windows 10 to 5.1 sound

    Windows 10 forced download

I actually had a client call yesterday with an email problem. when I tried walking him through some steps, he says "Yeah, I don't see that there, but I think it's because it's updated to windows 10. It did that a few weeks ago. I came back in on Monday, and it said Welcome to Windows 10"..... I think I'd throw the computer out the window.
