Windows 10: Forgot windows 10 password

hi,


i am using a hp laptop with a finger print sensor to login to windows.

i made some changes in startup “msconfig” windows restarted in safe mod and now asking for password and i cant remmeber it and i hooked up the internet cable to use the “i forgot my password” option but the network logo showes that the cable is not connected and every time i click the forgot password button it sayes “just a moment” and loads the same login page with now effect.

i tried booting into safe mode with networking the same issue happens.

How can i solve this issue and login to my windows?

Forgot Windows 10 password...

So I fired up my laptop in order to use it to flash a router without mucking around with the rest of my networking... and I forgot the password to log in. Is there anything I can do short of reinstalling windows, or downloading a Linux LiveCD? (If I do have to download something, I'd prefer the file size to be as small as possible, because of evil data caps)

Forgot Windows 10 password...

For future reference, there have been reports that this was patched out several weeks back. I found an alternative method doing some registry diving.
