Forza has been working very well for the past few weeks, now has suddenly decided to black screen after every rivals race. Not exactly stoked.

Announcing the Forza Racing Championship 2018

Drivers start your engines! Turn 10 Studios is taking racing esports to the next level with the Forza Racing Championship (ForzaRC) 2018. Taking the physicality of real-world Motorsport and blending it with the approachability of racing esports, ForzaRC 2018 is built on the award-winning Forza Motorsport 7 – which features more than 700 cars, 60 frames per second, and native 4K resolution on Xbox One X. Drivers of all skill levels will compete for glory and more than $250,000 in prizes, our largest prize pool to date.

Starting today, drivers can register at the official site, ForzaRC.com, to compete in the first ranked season of global competition, which begins April 2.

ForzaRC 2018 – Pre-Season Invitational Presented by IMSA

In advance of the 2018 season start, we’re kicking things off with the ForzaRC 2018 Pre-Season Invitational on March 24 in Seattle, WA, home of Turn 10 Studios. We’ve invited some of the best drivers and teams in the world to compete and set the stage for a season of exhilarating races. We’ll have more details to share, including participating racers, cars, tracks, and more in March.

ForzaRC 2018 – Regular Season

Following the Pre-Season Invitational presented by IMSA, the regular season begins. The season is split into two series, each consisting of seven weeks of ranked events and culminating in a live playoff event with a prize pool of $75,000. At the end of the two series, the top 24 drivers will be invited to compete in the Forza Racing World Championship 2018 for their shot at a $100,000 prize pool and the title.

Here’s a look at the 2018 season calendar, which will be updated regularly at ForzaRC.com:

Series 1: April 2 – May 23

Series 1 Playoffs: June 16 – 17, live in Seattle

Series 2: July 9 – August 29

Series 2 Playoffs: September 29 – 30, live in Mexico City

World Championship: October 2018 (final date TBA), live in London

Ranking Up

When the competition begins on April 2, all registered drivers begin their race to the top of the leaderboard. As part of each seven-week series, drivers will compete in ranked events, earning points and climbing the leaderboard as they go. Look for a full breakdown of the tournament structure and scoring in March.

Esports Features

We’re always looking for new ways to deliver a phenomenal experience to both players and fans alike and we’ve got a number of new, esports-centric features lined up for Forza Motorsport 7. Today, we’re excited to share the first two features: Spectate and Seed the Grid. These exciting features are a cornerstone of the Forza Motorsport 7 esports experience and, since they last appeared in Forza Motorsport 6, have been rethought and redeveloped from the ground up for Forza Motorsport 7 to deliver a dramatically improved on-track experience for both drivers and viewers:

Spectate
Watch live multiplayer races with our brand new Spectate feature. Improved camera transitions and performance means you’ll never miss the action. Positioning data for on-track cars is 100% precise as well, which means that what players see in Spectate is exactly what’s happening in the race.

Seed the Grid
Players will be able to set up multiplayer races just as they like with the new Seed the Grid feature. Lobby hosts can now manually set the grid order during race setup, and a completely overhauled interface offers hosts and viewers alike new details, like real-time player grid position changes.

Both Spectate and Seed the Grid will be added as part of our February content update for Forza Motorsport 7 and represent just the start of our esports feature set.

Forza Racing Championship Season 2 Offers $150,000 in Cash and Prizes

The Forza Racing Championship has returned! Following a thrilling first season of competition, registration is now open on the ESL website for Season 2 of the official #ForzaRC esports series. Sponsored by Michelin, Logitech G and Playseat, and starting Nov. 7, Season 2 players worldwide will compete for cash and prizes worth more than $150,000.

For the first time in ForzaRC series history, the events will take place across two Forza games – Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 6. Building on the success of the inaugural season, Season 2 will bring players of all skill levels together to experience state-of-the-art racing and fun competition through two unique race series.

In the Elite Series, the fastest drivers in the world compete in Forza Motorsport 6 to claim the title of Season 2 champion and a $10,000 cash prize for the top overall winner. Building on Season 1, the Elite Series in Season 2 will offer more ways to win over 100 cash prizes.

The Elite Series is comprised of three weeks of racing competition. 160 drivers will compete each week, with the top 32 drivers entering the Elite Series Showdown races to battle for entry to the ForzaRC Grand Finals. The 128 drivers that do not qualify for the Elite Series Showdown can continue to compete in the Elite Series Consolation Cup each week for a chance to continue building their skills and win prizes.

Fans can watch the Semi-Final races live hosted by ESL and streaming live on the official Forza Motorsport Twitch and Beam channels, beginning Nov. 13. The Grand Finals will be broadcast live from ESL’s studios in Burbank, CA on Sunday, Dec. 11.

The ForzaRC Recreation Series will be held entirely in Forza Horizon 3, giving players the chance to get competitive across the open-world environments of Australia. Starting today and over the next seven weeks, players can compete in the Recreation Series by setting a time in special ForzaRC Rivals events created in Forza Horizon 3. Additionally, players will have a chance to win exciting Horizon Edition cars in Forza Horizon 3 that are currently unavailable by any other means, such as the 2017 Ford GT Horizon Edition, just for participating each week.

Forza Racing Championship Season 2 Grand Finals and Viewer Sweepstakes

The second season of the Forza Racing Championship (ForzaRC), sponsored by Michelin, Logitech G and Playseat, comes to a finish in the Season 2 Elite Series Grand Finals this Sunday. For the first time in ForzaRC history, the Elite and Recreational series took place across two Forza games – Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 6. Players from all over the world have tested their skills across a variety of cars and locations, and the culmination of Season 2 will crown a new ForzaRC champion.

Tune in this Sunday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m. CET/11 a.m. PST to watch the ForzaRC Elite Series Grand Finals on our official Forza Motorsport Beam and Twitch channels, broadcast live from ESL’s studios in Burbank, CA. The Grand Finals will feature special guests from the Forza development team, as well as Global Rallycross driver and television personality Tanner Foust, who will be appearing as a guest analyst. Viewers will also get an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming Blizzard Mountain Expansion for Forza Horizon 3, releasing on Dec. 13, and the chance to win a copy during the broadcast.

This Sunday’s Grand Finals broadcast will also see our first ever Viewer Sweepstakes, where registered viewers on Beam will be eligible to win one of 25 prizes, including a trip for two to Ingolstadt, Germany for a once-in-a-lifetime Audi R8 driving experience.
