Windows 10: Freecell on Winblows 10

Amongst other games I like Freecell, this is new rig build, Winblows 10 has caused me no end of grief since it's installation less than a month ago.


I won't go into ALL of the problems it has created, I ill stay on track with the most current problem.


I was very happy to see that some games had been added, and started to play Freecell, without a problem until this evening, I had pinned Freecell to my taskbar, tonight when I went to open it the usual use the microflacid app store to play popped up, I ignored it as per normal.


This time however NO FREECELL, I ended it using task manager, tried again, same thing. I restarted my PC same thing yet again.


Jumped onto Dr Google did what 1 page I found said. Opened Freecell, this time a game I had previously started came up, I played it, won. Then for the first time I got hit with an add that went on for like 20 seconds. It seems the only way I can play without adds is to buy a subscription.


Can anyone tell me why after playing it add free all of a sudden I got hit with this add, and is there a workaround?

Freecell no longer works after a recent update

Windows 10 is designed to work with a different version of FreeCell, which is bundled with the built-in Microsoft Solitaire Collection. To play FreeCell, follow these steps:

• Click Start.
• Find and click Microsoft Solitaire Collection from the list of apps.
• Click FreeCell.

If Microsoft Solitaire Collection has been uninstalled previously, you may follow these steps to reinstall it:

• Click Start.
• Open the Store app.
• Type Microsoft Solitaire Collection in the Search bar and click the result.
• Click Install.

Start -> All apps -> Microsoft Solitaire Collection (right click to pin to start) -> Freecell

There are also several other versions of FreeCell available in the Store.

• From which base operating system did you upgraded to Windows 10?
• Did you choose the option to keep files and application while upgrading?

For the Game, I suggest you to try searching the Game (Mobilityware Freecell) using Search in Start menu. You can also search it using search option in File Explorer. Try the above step and check if it helps.
