Windows 10: Freezing on first startup

Ive just finished the build of my first brand new pc.


specs:

cpu: intel i5 9600k

gpu: msi ventus rtx 2060

mobo: msi z390-A pro

hard drive: wd blue 1tb hard disk drive


Because this is a fresh build, I had to install windows 10 (64 bit). I used my old laptop to install the most recent ISO onto a 8gb USB, and plugged it into the new desktop before turning it on. This is where the problems began.

I can make it past the BIOS to the initial setup screen where I choose language and input the CD key I bought, and it will slowly make its way through the installation and updating all the way to the finishing up label. It prompts me for a quick restart, “restarting in 10 seconds”, and soon after I’m greeted by a black screen, the “pro series” logo, and spinning dots. For a few minutes it will say “getting ready”, but eventually the message disappears. It always seems to freeze in the same phase of the installation process, and makes no progress from there.


After restarting from that point it will sometimes tell me that something went wrong during the installation, and give me a few options to either restart, or let the system diagnose itself, which always turns up empty.

This is my first time building a pc and I feel like I’ve followed most instructions correctly, but I have no idea what could be going wrong.

I'm not sure how to do that. Could you list the steps for a noob?

 

Winbook TW802 freezes on startup!

I suggest you to create a Windows 10 installation media and perform a Startup Repair on the device and check if it helps to resolve the issue.
This is an alternate way to boot the device and run recovery tools when something goes wrong with the Operating system.

Please follow the steps below to do Startup repair:

Steps:-

          Insert the installation USB drive
          and boot Windows 10 from it.
          
          If you don't have one, you can Create an installation Media.
          
        • 
          In the ‘Windows setup’ page select the ‘language to install’, ‘Time and currency format’
          and the ‘keyboard or input method’ and click on ‘next’.
          
        • 
          Click on ‘Repair your computer’ and select ‘Troubleshoot’.
          
        • 
          Click on ‘Advanced options’ and select ‘Startup Repair’
          and select the operating system.

Windows 10 freezes randomly

I had already tried turning off fast startup, to no avail.
Will look at the list you provided, thanks. Hard to do when computer freezes on the Windows loading screen though. *Biggrin

I had tried that as well... no result.
