Windows 10: Freezing system, unspecified hardware failure minidump attached

Hi there, For the past month or so I've had an issue where my desktop PC has been freezing the old-fashioned way once every few days. There doesn't seem to be much of a pattern to it. It'll be sudden and the computer will stop responding to input. Sometimes audio will continue to play for a few seconds, but typically it'll stop with the screen and and then my display will turn off and say it has no signal anymore. I've checked the reliability monitor for events and found unspecified hardware failures. Googling error codes doesn't lead me to anything specific. I tried rolling back to a System Restore point from before the first crash, but I recently had another freeze occur.


I've followed the insructions here for getting a minidump, msinfo, and system information. You can download a zip of them here. Any help much appreciated. Thank you!

2.9.0 causing BSOD (minidump analysis attached)

Just an update: I've swapped out the card (MSI GTX 1070TI Gaming X) I had for an identical one which arrived, reinstalled drivers.
Can still reproduce the issue, so I think we can rule out hardware failure or other shenanigans.

Slight change: I'm triggering DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION's too, although at a lesser rate than UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_TRAP's.

WinDBG is my friend nowadays, at least I'm learning *Smile

A stop error or blue screen errors are indication of driver, software or hardware failure. As a start, we suggest following the troubleshooting steps provided on this
article to resolve the stop error.

It is also very important to note that booting Windows in safe mode can easily help us determine whether it is caused by a hardware or driver issue. Check this

BSOD with minidumps attached

Here is the minidumps attached:

File upload and sharing. Large file transfers. Free online cloud storage.

There is no recent hardware or software changes and it has been crashing for a while.

It says it's hal.dll and ntoskrnl.exe but I don't have any idea what makes them crashes the system.

Also: Windows runs on latest version that my Windows Updates can give me.
