Windows 10: Freezing the system when playing games

Hello dear experts

first of all, I am sorry that my English is not good.

I have a desktop PC model ASUS ROG G20BM with the following specifications:

OS: Windows 10 Home Single Language 64-bit

CPU: AMD FX-770K (Quad Core 3.50 GHz)

VGA: AMD Radeon R9 200 Series

(The point is that the exact model of the graphics card is detected not by Windows, not by the graphics card driver. But when I bought this computer, it had Windows 8 and at that time, Windows would display the graphics card as "Radeon R9 360". After Windows upgraded to Windows 10 and the graphics card driver was updated to new versions, the graphics card model was only displayed on "R9 200 Series". According to my own searches based on the specifications of the graphics card, I realized that the graphics card model is compatible with the "Radeon R9 285" model.)

But the main problem:

Sometimes, when a game is running, the system is suddenly freeze and there is no way left except by turning off the computer manually.It should be noted that in most cases, simultaneously with freeze, a strange sound is heard from the computer. Of course, sometimes, if I'm lucky, the system automatically releases the freeze mode and returns to normal. It is also necessary to say that: NO messages such as BSoD will be created when hanging up the system. But very rarely (about 4-5 times) the BSoD has been created, which it was not at the time of the games.

Although I have updated Windows and graphics card driver many times, the problem still persists.

-What do you think the problem is? Hardware, software, firmware, operating system, graphics card driver, windows registry, ...

Please help me. I have installed many programs and I do not want to reinstall my windows because it's really time consuming and annoying!

Can't play Hit It Rich game and system freezes

Thank you for your response.

I can understand how frustrating it would be. This issue might be due to corrupted profile or if the game is not installed completely. I suggest you to follow these steps and let us know if it works.

Could you please help me with the below questions:

• Are you aware of any changes happened on the computer prior to this issue?
  
• Have you tried playing this game on other browser (Google chrome or Mozilla) and check for the issue?
  

Step 1: Uninstall or Repair the game.

1. Press Windows and
   R key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
   
3. Right click on the Hit it Rich app > Select Repair or uninstall it.
4. Reinstall the application and check for the issue.
   

Step 2: Create a new local account.

The reason might be due to user account corruption, so I would suggest you to ‘Create
a local user or administrator account’ and check if the issue persists.

Note: You will not see all your files under your default file location.
So your data will be saved under C:\Users\User_name.

  Did you install the application from the Windows store?
  
• 
  Did you make any changes prior to this issue?
  

Let's try the below steps and check if it helps to resolve the issue.

Try Updating the graphics driver and check.

Step 1: Follow these steps to
update graphics drivers.

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
• Search for Display Adapters and expand it.
• Right click on the graphics driver and select
  Update driver software.
• Restart the System and check opening the application again.

Step 2: Uninstall and Reinstall the graphics card drivers
and update and check.

• Have you tried downloading the game and then play and check if the same issue occurs?
• Does the same issue occurs with different games as well?

Try downloading the same and run it in compatibility mode and check if it helps:

Download the game from the computer manufacture's website for Windows 10, if not available.

Follow these steps to install the game in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

a. Download the game from the manufacturer’s website.

b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.

c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8.1/7 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the
installation.

d. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
