  1. Frequent Blue Screens - Memory Management

Hello, I just completed my first computer build and I'm getting BSOD frequently when downloading large files games on steam are a common cause. It also occurs when playing games on steam, sometimes. I've tried updating my GPU, BIOS, and chipset drivers.

I tried Windows Memory Diagnostic tool and I recall it had an error but no description of what was wrong.

I looked in my Event Viewer and I think my system is crashing on a Bug Check : 0x0000001a 0x0000000000041790, 0xffff9d0011e7a4b0, 0x0000000000000038, 0x000000000000003e. I frequently see Bug Check errors with varying codes and Application Popup errors.

I thought maybe either my RAM had problems or my GPU, so I disabled the GPU driver and set my BIOS to use the integrated graphics. Tried downloading a large file and then got blue screen again, but with the code: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR.

After this I did an sfc scan, which said "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them." So I looked at CBS.log and noticed two outlying things:

I'm not really sure where to go from here. I'm kind of stumbling through the various help pages I'm finding, but don't understand enough about this to diagnose anything. Any help is appreciated.

    :)

Frequent Blue Screen error on computer

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are receiving Blue Screen error on your computer. I’ll certainly assist you with this.

    However, please let us know:

    • When exactly are you getting the Blue Screen error?
    • What is the error message you receive?
    • Are you aware of any changes made to the computer recently?
    • What is the make and model of the computer?

I have analyzed the dump files shared by you and found that the error is caused by a Memory corruption.

I would suggest you to run a Windows Memory Diagnostic check on the computer to check test the memory installed on the computer. Refer the steps mentioned below:

    1. Press Windows key + R, to open
      Run
      dialog box.
    2. Type mdsched and click on
      OK
      .
    3. Click on Restart now and check for problems.

Also, if you are using two RAM sticks, I would suggest you to using one RAM stick and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,
