Fresh reload of Windows 10 and the way it looks

My Laptop SSD drive failed, totally so I lost everything and a reload of Windows 10 looks different. Some good, some bad.

    1. One of the bad for me is the page/screen at power-up. Use to be just the BACKGROUND, Internet connection icon to logon.
Now Windows has added extra stuff of "do you like this? Do you like that?.....".I can not find a way to get rid of this "extra" stuff, etc.
Must be someway to get back to a CLEAN PICTURE/BACKGROUND??
    Is there?
    2. I use my Taskbar on the LEFT due to width versus height of a computer screen [better proportion]. I can make my TASKBAR Icons really small. BUT my "small icons" on my: DESKTOP Icons are BIG in proportions. [ View > Large icons, Medium icons, Small icons] to the size of the Taskbar Icons.
Desktop Icons, is SMALL the smallest I can make them??

    :)

Fresh reload of Windows 10 and the way it looks

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
