Windows 10: 'Fresh Start' failed. How do I reinstall a fresh windows 10 operating system?

Something went wrong with an update or something happened at some point. At first, the update worker would run and eventually crash the computer, I did solution 4 here https://windowsreport.com/tiworker-exe-causes-high-disk-usage/, the crashing stopped thereafter, however I cant update my computer and im sure the registry or something is F'd. Update troubleshooter doesn't work, checking for updates doesnt work, and I'm sure there's a lot of other things I dont care to remember, I've put too much time into this and my head really hurts.


I'm not looking for a diagnosis, I don't care about preserving files, I just need a clean complication free installation. Unfortunately "fresh start didnt work--no files were changed". I need the solution with the highest probability of success. I'd prefer to not have to spend $100 at geek squad, best buy workers are not as smart as they used to be.


Note: My computer is unable to 'check for updates', I truly mean that in every sense. Any solution that puts the words 'checking for updates' on my screen is going to fail, please do not post a solution that involves this process. My computer will not cooperate with anything involving an update, If I am to get an update on here, I need to **** my computer. I'd rather just salt the Earth at this point. Assume the trees are diseased and the rangers are dead, give me a match and a bag of seeds. Please.

fresh start

I want to reinstall windows 10with a clean version

windows suggest to use the new fresh start that comes with the anniversary packet. I am unable to do a fresh start because my windows defender do have a security centre. please give me advice I am ready to throw this laptop out the window.

all I want is a fresh start. some one please help

 

Windows Fresh Start

What I mean by fresh start is, an option found in Windows Defender Security Center -> Device Performance & Health -> Fresh Star

• Fresh Start: "Start fresh with a clean up to date installation of Windows. This will keep your personal files and some windows settings, and remove some of your apps."

I proceeded to check the disk through the mentioned instructions but no error was found. Any idea what might be causing the issue?

 

Windows Update keeps failing!

Yea, that was going to be my next suggestion, if "Safe mode" did not work... I didn't want to scare him just yet.. *Toast :toast: There is a new feature in Windows 8 that will let you go back to a fresh install with just a few clicks. It should help a lot non pro's to start over fresh. *Toast :toast: But this is no help to him.. *Toast :toast:
