Windows 10: Fresh Start

I have a Lenovo notebook pc...Celeron N2930 @ 1.83Ghz...4.00GB 64bit

Prod ID = 00326-03532-49984-AAOEM

This is an older pc that used to have Win 8 on it, but Win10 was added when it was refurbished before I bought it from Walmart.

I think it was earlier this year that Greg Carmack helped me with problems with it...after doing driver updates, it ran much better. Updates are up to date now.

Now it seems to be acting the same way. After being used for a couple of hours or so, it gets to when I click on something, it doesn't immediately perform, as if it's deciding whether or not it wants to do what I want.

I added Avast to it, but I see no improvement.

I should add that it was running OK until a few months ago when I let a neighbor use it to train for a census job. The problems may not have been caused by her or the census program, but I've had trouble ever since. And I did another Reset a week or two ago.

The Reset instructions say that a new install of Win10 will happen when Reset runs, but I'm not persuaded as it seems that a new OS wouldn't have the same recurring problems.

I clicked a link about Fresh Start, and that also says that a new install of Win10 will be done, but I'm skeptical of what it says and wary of going thru all the hassles involved only to get the same results.

I use this pc most of the day, and it's gotten so that I have to do a shutdown 2 or 3 times a day to keep it running somewhat properly.

So, my question is...would it be worth running Fresh Start to try to resolve the issues once and for all or just live with it as it is?

Windows Fresh Start

What I mean by fresh start is, an option found in Windows Defender Security Center -> Device Performance & Health -> Fresh Star

• Fresh Start: "Start fresh with a clean up to date installation of Windows. This will keep your personal files and some windows settings, and remove some of your apps."

I proceeded to check the disk through the mentioned instructions but no error was found. Any idea what might be causing the issue?

 

Start fresh

No "start fresh" messages, but the list of favorite sites is different. I don't even know how to make the old list come back. I asked once and was told that is a Microsoft secret.

I want to reinstall windows 10with a clean version

windows suggest to use the new fresh start that comes with the anniversary packet. I am unable to do a fresh start because my windows defender do have a security centre. please give me advice I am ready to throw this laptop out the window.
