    FTM 2010 Windows 10 Issues


    Tried reinstalling FTM2010 onto new Windows 10 HP laptop as administrator, Windows 7 (from which it came!) and finally Vista compatibility. Even the straight Windows 10 install yields same error message: "FTM 2010 was not properly closed the last time it was used. You may need to compact your last opened file to resolve any issues caused by an improper shut down...." It then tells you to choose "Compact File" from the tools menu. Weird!

    No data present and still get same error msg. I even tried buying PC Mover from LapLink and moving program and data from old Win 7 64 bit computer.

    Same error message. Any suggestions?

    FTM 2010 (vista) to Windows 10 laptop

    I have over three thousand people, in my 2010 FTM, saved on a thumb drive. I now have a laptop that runs Windows 10. I still have the 2010 program cd, but, my laptop does not take cd's. What do I do to be able to use ftm?

    Hi Marcia,

    Let me have some information to assist you better with your concern.

    1. Are you getting any error messages when inserting the CD? If so, send us a screenshot.

    2. Is the same issue happening with other CD program?

    3. Do you have another Windows 10 computer to install FTM 2010?

    FTM 2010 (XP to Windows 10)

    I have FTM 2010 installed on an XP machine. Everything works great. I moved my data and Programs files to the new computer, and now I am getting an error telling me that " my program was not closed properly the last time it was used. You may need to compact
    your last opened file to resolve any issues caused by an improper shutdown". I only get this error on Windows 10 machine. I did the compact on the XP machine and resaved my files on usb key still no luck. - Would it be in my best interest to just upgrade
    to a newer version, I'm a little leary on doing this as I will get new upgrade and still have an issue with my data.

    Hope someone can help. thanks for your time.
